Library and Archive
The library of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp supports art historical research and is accessible to everyone. The archive preserves information about the museum from its early origins to the present day.
Visit
The reading room of the KMSKA in the Lange Kievitstraat will close its doors for good due to the reopening of the museum on September 24, 2022. The library and archive will reopen in the new reading room in the museum building on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. You are most welcome.
The reading room of the library and the archive are free of charge. As the workplaces are limited, we always ask you to make an appointment in advance.
How to use the library and archive collections
Have you found what you are looking for in the catalogue? Then you can reserve the documents you require. For the library you can make your reservation via the catalogue, for the archives you can contact us here. Because it is impossible to borrow publications or archive documents, we deliver digitally to the best of our ability.

Making a request
Reserving library publications
Have you already registered with the library? Then you can reserve publications directly from the online catalogue.
Not yet registered? Register via the link below. Upon confirmation you can log into the catalogue and reserve publications.
We will notify you as soon as the requested materials are ready for you in the reading room. As we have to collect the documents from an external depository, this may take a few days.
Reserving archive documents
Have you found what you are looking for in the archive inventory? If so, you can reserve the item you require with the correct reference via e-mail.

Do you need further information on a certain subject? Please let us know. We provide digital copies of most documents.
